This was an amazing job to put together. The concept was to add Brian May in the present day (during Covid19 lockdown) into a previous live video of a performance at the Brixton Academy. Here he would play alongside his band mates as well as his former self! 

Prior to shooting, I made a previsualisation edit inserting stills into each shot of the video. This was to match camera angles and sync for each element. Once all the shots were collated, they were shot in a studio during the challenges of the pandemic and lockdown, with a live feed to me to oversee the vfx supervision here in the Highlands, many miles away from the studio in West London.

All shots were comped in to existing footage where interaction is carefully considered to make Brian actually be playing on stage, as a Time Traveller, hence the name of this version.

The track has a physical release on CD and 7” vinyl October 22 coupled with his Freddie Mercury inspired ‘Nothin’ But Blue’, as well as a special digital release with a bonus ‘Back To The Light’ karaoke version.
